چکیده
Several studies have been reported on the cytogenetic analysis of spontaneous abortions (Aspillage et al., 1966; Boue, Boue, and Lazar, 1967; Carr, 1967; Clendenin and Benirschke, 1963; Hall and Kallen, 1964; Inhorn, Therman, and Patau, 1964; Rashad and Kerr, 1965; Singh, Rubinoff, and Carr, 1966; Szulman, 1965; Thiede and Salm, 1964; Thiede and Metcalfe, 1966; Waxman, Arakaki, and Smith, 1967), and the common chromosomal anomalies seen are autosomal trisomies, sex monosomies, triploidy, and tetraploidy. In addition to these there are some rare abnormalities, such as double autosomal trisomies (Carr, 1967; Boue et al., 1967). The present case is an abortus with a modal number of 48 chromosomes, the two extra chromosomes are large acrocentrics belonging to the D group.

Tetrasomy 16 in the mouse: a more severe condition than the corresponding trisomy.
Although an understanding of the phenotypic similarities and differences between individuals trisomic and tetrasomic for the same chromosome or chromosome segment is of considerable theoretical interest with regard to the relationship of the phenotypic features of aneuploid states to changes in the dosage of specific genes, the data obtainable from human cases of tetrasomy do not permit firm co...
متن کاملTetrasomy 8 detected by interphase cytogenetics in a child with acute lymphocytic leukemia.
Tetrasomy 8 is a rare clonal anomaly in human acute leukemia. Here we present a case of a 7-year-old boy with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) displaying a tetrasomy 8 clone that could not be detected by conventional cytogenetics. In this study, bone marrow and peripheral blood cells were collected at five different diagnostic stages and analyzed by double targeted fluorescence in situ hybrid...
متن کاملCytogenetics Findings in a Histiocytic Sarcoma Case
Histiocytic sarcoma (HS) is a neoplasm derived from histiocytes. Its diagnosis was not clear until its immunohistochemistry profile was correctly established. Not much is known about its genetic properties. We report a case of a 48-year-old male patient whose bone marrow was almost completely occupied by monomorphic medium size neoplastic cellularity. Its immunohistochemical profile was CD68(+)...
متن کاملThe phenotypic and cytogenetic spectrum of partial trisomy 9.
A new patient with trisomy for the chromosome segment 9pter----q22 is compared to 19 previously reported cases of partial trisomy 9. Manifestations such as microcephaly, prominent nasal root, bulbous nose, and down-turned corners of the mouth are common to patients with trisomic segments extending from 9p21 to 9q13, while intra-uterine growth retardation, cleft lip/palate, skeletal anomalies, a...
متن کاملCytogenetic investigations in four canine lymphomas.
Four cases of canine lymphoma are presented, including histological examination and cytogenetic investigation. The first case showed a derivative chromosome 13, the second case showed a clonal trisomy 8 and the third case showed a complex karyotype with a clonal trisomy 13 and additional clonal trisomies of the chromosomes 20, 30 and 37, as well as a non-clonal tetrasomy 9. Case four showed a s...
